LOCAL RULES - CLUB DE GOLF JAVEA (Revised Feb 2025)
- Out of Bounds (R18.2): is defined either by white stakes or lines, or by the course-side edge of the wire fences or walls. The underground sections of the tunnels are Out of Bounds. The land surrounding the 5th tee, 6th hole, and 7th tee, marked with white stakes, is considered Out of Bounds.
- Abnormal Course Conditions (R16.1):
– Immovable Obstructions: all concrete paths; paths covered or encrusted with gravel; wooden sleepers and concrete elements adjacent to paths and Teeing Areas; the low walls defining the Penalty Areas. The graveled planted areas and the surrounding concrete paths to the left of holes 2 and 11, 9 and 18 are to be treated as one single Immovable Obstruction. Free relief by dropping a ball within 1 Club Length from the Nearest Point of Complete Relief, not nearer the hole.
– Ground under Repair (GUR): is defined by blue markings. A player whose ball is at rest in a GUR, or whose stance or intended swing physically interferes with a GUR, MAY take free relief by dropping a ball within 1 Club Length of the Nearest Point of Complete Relief, not nearer the hole. The player may also drop a ball in the closest Dropping Zone, when one has been provided.
– No Play Zones (R16.1f) are defined by spaced white markings and by blue stakes with white tops. Play is prohibited in a NPZ. If a player’s ball lies in or touches a No Play Zone, or when a No Play Zone interferes with the player’s stance or intended swing, that player must take free relief by dropping a ball:
- within 1 Club Length from the Nearest Point of Complete Relief, not nearer the hole.
- or in the provided Dropping Zone.
Dropping Zones are defined:
- by markings on the ground.
- or by a black stake: a ball must be dropped in any direction within a club-length of that stake; the black stake is a movable obstruction.
- Integral Objects: all stone structures within the boundaries of the course; all gates encased in the wire fences defining the boundaries of the course; all concrete rises at the base of those stone structures, fences or gates; the Pump House to the left of Tee 1,10; the well in front of Tee 9, 18. If a player has interference from such an Integral Object that player may play the ball as it lies or take relief by selecting any option under R19 (unplayable ball), for one penalty stroke.
- Ball deflected by power lines (MLR E-11): If it is Known or Virtually Certain that the player’s ball hit a power line situated in-bounds during the play of holes 4, 6, 13 or 15, the stroke does not count. The player must play a ball without penalty from where the previous stroke was made (R14.6), by dropping a ball within 1 Club Length from the estimated location where the ball was at rest, not nearer the hole.
- Preferred Lies (MLR E- Preferred Lies (MLR E-3): in the General Area cut to fairway height or less. When this local rule is in use, the player may take free relief once by placing a ball in the General Area, with these limitations: the size of the relief area is 6 inches (15,2 cm) from the original spot, not nearer the hole; the player must use the procedure for replacing a ball under R14.2b(2).
- The alternative relief option (MLR E-5) to Stroke and Distance for Lost Ball or Ball Out of Bounds is not implemented during competitions.
